It has massive battles, with up to 1000s of players in servers for some mods.įinally, no other combat system as in depth and rewarding as this one. That's because the game doesn't need it, it makes you feel as though you have progressed in such a natural and fulfilling way. Yeah there is no XP or money, upgrades, etc. No other multiplayer game can give you such a natural sense of progression. Even after several thousand hours in the series, I still learn new maneuvres and strategies to use in the multiplayer. No other multiplayer game is so in-depth. Modding is nice, but that doesn't make the game, so the best part of the series is: the multiplayer.
However, Mount and Blade is in a category of it's own (forget Chivalry and War of the Roses/ Vikings, they are childs play compared to Mount and Blade) So instead of telling you why everyone adores this game, I will simply say what is does good.īiggest and best modding community around (No really, no other game has such a welcoming mod community, and the module system is so easy to use that even a complete noob to coding can make their own mod, and on top of that, the amount of mods out for this game is absolutely ridiculous.) Lot's of games you can explain why they are good easily, because they are in a class of games, for instance, Skyrim is so good because it's world is massive and interesting. Having put thousands of hours into the Mount and Blade series, through several Steam accounts and several different non-Steam versions for mods, I still can't exactly explain why the game is so addicting and my favorite game of all time.
